Welcome to Island Export. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of islandexport.co.za and the personal shopping, procurement and freight forwarding services we provide between South Africa and the Seychelles. By requesting a quote, accepting a quotation, or making payment, you agree to these Terms. “We”, “us” and “Island Export” refer to the business identified in the Company Information above. “You” refers to the client.
Island Export sources and purchases goods in South Africa on your behalf, consolidates them, and arranges sea freight, customs clearance and delivery to the Seychelles. All services are provided subject to availability of goods, sailing schedules and carrier capacity. Quotations are valid for 7 days unless stated otherwise and may be revised if supplier pricing, exchange rates or freight costs change before payment is received.
All invoices are payable in full, in South African Rand (ZAR), before goods are purchased or shipped. We do not extend credit. Payment is accepted by credit card, debit card and the other payment methods offered by Payfast at checkout via our online payment facility, or by direct bank transfer as indicated on your invoice.
Card transactions are acquired for Island Export via Payfast (Pty) Ltd (“Payfast by Network”), an approved payment service provider for all South African acquiring banks. Payfast uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer (SSL), and no card details are stored on our website. You may view Payfast’s security certificate and security policy at www.payfast.io.
Customer details are stored by Island Export separately from card details, which are entered by you on Payfast’s secure site. The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options is South Africa and the transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).
Goods are shipped by sea or air freight from Durban, South Africa to Port Victoria, Mahé, Seychelles in accordance with our published sailing schedule, which is indicative and subject to change by the shipping line, weather and port operations. Customs clearance and local delivery in the Seychelles are handled by our Seychelles office, Giro Pty Ltd, Diolinda Avenue, Providence Industrial Estate, Mahé, Seychelles. Transit times are estimates and not guaranteed. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. We will keep you informed of material delays. Delivery in the Seychelles is made to the address confirmed on your quotation. It is your responsibility to ensure the accuracy of delivery details and to be available to receive the goods.
Import duties, taxes and levies imposed by the Seychelles Revenue Commission are for your account unless expressly included in your quotation. You warrant that goods requested by you are lawful to export from South Africa and import into the Seychelles. We reserve the right to refuse any request for goods that are dangerous, restricted or prohibited by law, carrier or port authority.
The provision of goods and services by Island Export is subject to availability. If goods are unavailable after payment, we will refund you in full for the unavailable items within 30 days. Orders cancelled by you after payment but before goods are purchased will be refunded less any costs already incurred and an administration fee of 5%. Once goods have been purchased on your behalf, cancellation is subject to the supplier’s returns policy; freight already booked may not be refundable.
Please inspect your goods on delivery. Claims for missing or damaged items must be reported to us in writing within 7 days of delivery. Our liability for loss or damage is limited to the value of the affected goods as invoiced, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Marine cargo insurance can be arranged on request and is recommended for high-value shipments. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or other applicable law.
We collect only the personal information needed to provide our services (name, contact details, delivery address and order information) and process it in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. We do not sell your information. Payment card data is processed solely by Payfast and never stored by us. See our full POPIA & Privacy section below.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will first be addressed in good faith between the parties before other remedies are pursued. The courts of South Africa have jurisdiction.

We want you to trust every shipment. This policy explains when and how refunds are made.
If any item cannot be sourced after you have paid, we refund that item in full within 30 days, to the payment method you used.
Orders cancelled before we purchase your goods are refunded less costs already incurred and a 5% administration fee. After purchase, refunds depend on the supplier’s returns policy; booked freight may be non-refundable.
Report in writing to sales@islandexport.co.za within 7 days of delivery, with photos where possible. Approved claims are refunded or credited to the value of the affected goods as invoiced.
Payments made through Payfast are refunded through Payfast to the original payment method. Bank transfer payments are refunded by EFT to the paying account. Refunds are processed within 30 days of approval.

Name, contact details, delivery address, order/quote information and payment reference. We never collect or store your card data.
To quote, source, ship, clear customs, deliver, invoice and communicate with you about your order.
We share information only as needed to perform the service, with suppliers, shipping lines, Seychelles customs authorities, our Seychelles office, and Payfast for payment processing.
Your personal information is transferred to the Seychelles for customs clearance and delivery.
We retain your information for as long as needed to provide the service and as required by South African tax law.
You have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal information. You may also contact the Information Regulator at inforeg@justice.gov.za.
